As part of the Customer Service and Sales in Logistics course, students from Group 12 of the Transportation Logistics program at Champlain Saint-Lambert visited the facilities of Transplus in Ville Saint-Laurent.

The company, in business for 33 years, offers container import services (freight brokerage), warehousing, distribution, and transportation. It also operates a second center in Mississauga, Ontario.

“To gain a concrete understanding of customer service and sales processes, we reviewed with the Transplus fleet manager the various software systems used to respond to customer inquiries and track responses,” explains Jean-Pierre Castell, professor and organizer of the visit.

The visit was made possible thanks to the Logistics Director, Mr. Elvis Freitas, and the Transplus Fleet Manager, Mr. Derek Clark.

“We really enjoyed the visit to Transplus. It was interesting to see the work directly on site. The atmosphere was calm and professional, even in a dynamic and sometimes stressful environment. The employees were very open, available, and ready to answer all our questions with patience and clarity,” said student Martha Pinho.

Seeing the real workplace helped us better understand the industry. In my opinion, visits like this are very important because they connect classroom theory with real professional experience. They also help students better understand possible career paths in the industry,” added student Elham Batebi.
