Students in the Continuing Education Specialist in Transportation and Logistics Program Madeline Poston and Xiaojie Yu took part in the 72nd Annual Congress of the Association du Camionnage du Québec (ACQ) along with their teacher and representative of Champlain College Saint-Lambert, Michael Loughman.

This event took place in Gatineau on April 26, 2025, and brought together more than 700 people from the sector around the theme “United for a sustainable future.”

Poston was honoured with the $500 François-Rouette-Cain Lamarre award of the Fondation pour la formation en transport routier. Xiaojie received the $1,000 Desjardins Caisse des Transports award of that foundation. Both were selected by their teachers based on their participation in class, marks and willingness to learn.

“After a breakfast buffet and an opening by a guest speaker, the laureates were gathered for a presentation and fun quiz by Camo-Route who talked about the importance of safety procedures to avoid injuries when working with heavy machinery,” said Madeline Poston.

‘’Following this, we were paired with the donors of our bursaries. I was paired with Jean-Sébastien Tremblay-Mimeault, a lawyer from Cain-Lamarre, who answered any questions I had and gave me more insight into the industry, especially with the legal aspect of the industry that I’m less familiar with. Finally, we had a lunch with everyone and were given our bursaries. Overall, it was a fun experience and a wonderful opportunity to learn and network.”

“During the event, I took part in different activities, including a private networking cocktail with donors and members of the ACQ and the Fondation pour la formation en transport routier boards,” said Xiaojie Yu. I was also honoured to be recognized during the scholarship awards luncheon. The experience gave me valuable insight into Quebec’s trucking industry, allowed me to connect with professionals, and helped me reflect on my future career path.”

The Continuing Education Department and the whole Champlain College Saint-Lambert Community warmly congratulate Madeline and Xiaojie for their achievements!
