Founded in 1998 and acquired by Richard Gervais in 2005, Axxess International is now a key player in the logistics field. With offices in Quebec, Ontario and the United States, it is without doubt a leader in customs brokerage and international freight forwarding, which the students in Group 11 of the Transportation Logistics program at Champlain College Saint-Lambert visited last May as part of their Import-Export Processes course.
The students thoroughly enjoyed their visit, as evidenced by their comments, only a few of which are quoted below.
“I learned how the company works and saw how the employees do their jobs”, said Radhika Padamati.
“Overall, it was a motivating experience that helped me imagine myself working in this field and gave me more confidence in the career path I’m pursuing,” added Mujtaba Khalid Ahmed Mohammed.
“One key takeaway was the importance of being informed about changing regulations in the industry, which was highlighted by the company’s adaptability in managing customs compliance challenges,” stressed Roman Kot.
“I especially liked learning about the skills employers value like problem solving and teamwork. It got me thinking more about my career path and what I need to focus on,” wrote Adam Hafez.
Teacher Tanitsa Tsvetkova, who organized this field trip, concluded: “This visit to Axxess International provided our students an incredible opportunity for hands-on, real-world learning.”
