Students in the Transportation and Logistics program at Champlain College Saint-Lambert took part in a three-day series of hands-on workshops this month, designed to connect classroom learning with real-world logistics and supply chain operations.

A special feature of the workshops was that the facilitators are also graduates of the Transportation and Logistics program, allowing students to learn directly from professionals who have followed a similar educational path and now work in the industry.

From Warehouse Operations to Transportation Dispatch and Billing

Led by Tanitsa Tsvetkova, the first workshop gave students hands-on experience managing a complete logistics workflow using Nüway360. From warehouse operations and inventory to dispatch, delivery follow-up, and billing, students experienced how different logistics functions connect within a single process.

Project Management Essentials for Logistics and Supply Chain Professionals

The second workshop, led by Amir Reza Koushki, introduced students to project management through logistics-focused case studies and activities. They explored project planning, stakeholder and risk management, performance measurement, and digital transformation. As a PMP-certified Logistics Project Coordinator at Spectrum Pharma with previous experience in air freight forwarding, Amir brought valuable industry expertise to the workshop.

Export Logistics: From Shipment Planning to Documentation

The third workshop, facilitated by Tanitsa Tsvetkova, focused on international export logistics. Students worked through an ocean shipment scenario covering Incoterms, carrier and port selection, container planning, freight costs, insurance, payment methods, and export documentation.

Continuing Education student Nadia Herrera appreciated the practical approach, explaining that the export scenario helped students connect classroom learning with industry practices and understand how different logistics decisions come together in a real-world situation.

With more than 18 years of domestic and international logistics experience, Tanitsa brought valuable real-world insight to the exercises.

Learning by Doing

The workshop series demonstrated the value of learning by doing. Through practical scenarios, professional software, and industry-based decision-making, students strengthened their technical skills and confidence.

“Practical workshops are essential because they give students valuable hands-on experience, build confidence, and prepare them to succeed in the workplace,” said Tanitsa Tsvetkova.

The Continuing Education Department is proud to offer students opportunities to complement their academic learning with practical workshops and industry experiences.

We thank Tanitsa Tsvetkova and Amir Reza Koushki for making this workshop series a success.
