“Graduates of the AEC program in Special Care Counselling can apply their skills in a variety of settings, including social service and rehabilitation centers, regular or specialized schools, group and youth homes, community organizations, home care centers, and hospitals” explained Marlon Sanches, pedagogical counsellor for the program.
Students presented on the implementation of their Integrative Project, where they applied and synthesized the knowledge and professional skills acquired throughout the program. The final Internship is a great opportunity for students to showcase their abilities, and many of them are hired during their Internship period.
For example, two students from the cohort successfully completed their Internship and Integrative Project at REACH School in the Riverside School Board and are now full-time employees.
Congratulations to all the graduates and to their dedicated teachers and best of luck in their new careers!
The next group of the program now called Special Education Techniques begins on March 31, 2025.
