On Thursday, January 15, 2026, students from Group 10 of the Special Care Counselling program offered through Champlain Saint-Lambert’s Continuing Education department celebrated the successful completion of their Attestation d’études collégiales (AEC).

Throughout the program, students engaged in a comprehensive sequence of courses and field placements designed to equip them with the skills needed to support at-risk and special-needs individuals. They demonstrated significant growth in communication, self-awareness, ethical practice, and person‑centered care.

This cohort showed remarkable perseverance and commitment as they advanced through each stage of their training, often balancing personal responsibilities while developing the abilities required in their future roles. Their achievements reflect not only academic success but also meaningful personal development.

“The program recognizes these students for their dedication and the compassion they bring to their work, and we celebrate the positive impact they are preparing to make in their communities,” said Kristofer Brown, one of their teachers and the instructor responsible for the Integrative Project course.

All graduating students were offered positions as Special Care Counsellors or Special Education Technicians. These professionals are employed in a wide range of public and community organizations, including the Ministry of Health and Social Services, social service and rehabilitation centres, regular and specialized schools, group homes, youth centres, community organizations, home-care services, and hospitals.

A new cohort of that program will start in the Fall of 2026. To attend an information session to learn more about the Special Education Techniques program at Champlain Saint-Lambert, please fill this form.

Congratulations to all the graduates and to their dedicated teachers and best of luck as they begin their new careers!
