This summer, the Information Technology and Buildings and Equipment teams at Champlain College Saint-Lambert worked together to revamp the TV studio on campus with some major improvements that will benefit students in the Film and New Media program.

The studio space was repainted with a new Matte Black and Chroma Key Green wall for green screen effects. All of the wiring in the room was completely replaced and much of the technology upgraded.

The Tri Caster (Video switcher) has been replaced with a new Blackmagic Video Switcher and all the cameras have been replaced with new 4k TV studio production cameras.

The sound system and sound board has been upgraded as well as the communication system for reliable coms between the director, camera operator, and producers. IT also introduced a new Teleprompter system and upgraded the Graphics system for “On Air” graphics.

This is a great improvement for students and teachers who use this studio throughout the year and an excellent collaboration between IT&MS and B&E.
