Champlain’s Model United Nations team is heading to the Berkeley Model United Nations Conference in San Francisco this month.

Sarra Khaireddine, a third-year student and Treasurer of the Model UN team, coordinates the group’s participation in a conference outside of Canada each year.

Last year, they attended Harvard’s collegiate conference in Boston, which she deescrived as “an incredible experience.”

Khaireddine said that the Model UN team at University of California, Berkeley reached out to the Champlain team on social media with an invitation to participate.

“Our team of 12 students, carefully selected for their exemplary skills and dedication to MUN, will be traveling to San Francisco from February 27 to March 3. We’ll be fully immersing ourselves in the fast-paced world of diplomacy and debate,” said Khaireddine.

“Each of our delegates will be tackling different global issues in various committees, ranging from the World Health Organization and the Hollywood strikes to the Sicilian Mafia!”

“We’re excited to experience a West Coast MUN for the first time,” she added.
