Congratulations to Champlain Saint-Lambert student Shawn Burnett who has been awarded a $4,000 bursary by the Fondation Aléo in partnership with Saputo.

Burnett, who is studying social science at Champlain, is a member of the National Para Hockey Team. He recently returned from the Czech Republic, where Canada won the silver medal at the International Cup.

Originally from McMasterville, Que., Burnett has been playing hockey since he was three years old. After a serious parachute accident in June 2021, he joined a para hockey team and continued to pursue his passion for sport.

He won two back-to-back Canadian parahockey championships for Team Quebec in 2021 and 2022 before being selected for the national team.
