Champlain College Saint-Lambert is delighted to announce that alumnus and former student-athlete and assistant coach Patrick Leduc will serve as the Honorary President for the 2025 CCAA Men’s Soccer National Championships, scheduled for November 5-8, 2025.

“As a former Cavalier, I am thrilled to take on the role of Honorary President for this year’s championships,” said Patrick Leduc. “Returning to Champlain Saint-Lambert in this capacity gives me the opportunity to celebrate our athletes, support high-level competition, and contribute to the growth of college sport in Canada.”

“We are proud to welcome Patrick Leduc back to the Champlain community in this distinguished role,” said Vince Amato, Coordinator of Athletics at Champlain College Saint-Lambert. “His accomplishments on and off the field, coupled with his ongoing involvement in our soccer program, make him the ideal ambassador for the 2025 championships. We look forward to an unforgettable event.”

The championships will bring together Canada’s top collegiate men’s soccer teams for four days of competition and community celebration — a fitting stage for Patrick’s leadership and the spirit of Champlain College Saint-Lambert.

Patrick Leduc was signed by the Montreal Impact of the USL First Division in 2000, He finally broke into the first team in 2002, and spent over 1,000 minutes on the field. In his fourth season with the club, he scored his first goal (August 3 vs. Pittsburgh Riverhounds) and his second goal was the winner in a 2–0 victory over the Calgary Storm, clinching first place in the Eastern Conference.

In 2004, Leduc was one of five Impact players to play more than 2,000 minutes, scored three goals and added four assists, and was part of the starting eleven for the championship game which the Impact won 2–0 against the Seattle Sounders, claiming the championship for the second time in club history, and for the third consecutive year helped claim the Voyageurs Cup.

In 2005, he helped the Impact to a 15-game undefeated streak (a new league record) while helping the team clinch the regular-season title. In 2006, he played his 150th career game with the Impact (August 31 vs. the Portland Timbers), becoming only the 7th player in club history to do so. Later that season, he reached the 10,000 career minutes-played mark with Montreal — only the 8th person in club history to do so.

Internationally, Leduc was invited to a Canada national soccer team training camp in January 2005 and played his first game on July 2, 2005, against the Honduras national soccer team. He was selected to represent Canada at the 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup and was in the starting eleven for the first two games against Costa Rica national soccer team and the United States men’s national soccer team.

His deep roots in the local soccer community, combined with professional accomplishments on both the club and international levels, make him an ideal ambassador for this year’s championships.
