Millennium Certificates

Champlain Saint-Lambert offers a unique set certificates that all students can pursue, regardless of their program and without extending their degree. Under the guidance of a faculty mentor, participants earn points toward their certificates through course work, independent study, and extra-curricular activities.

The program helps foster intellectual curiosity and provides additional recognition for motivated students.

The current areas are:

  • Critical Race Studies
  • Democracy and Social Movements
  • Environmental Citizenship
  • Gender Studies
  • Indigenous and Decolonization Studies
  • Technology and Society
  • Health and Wellness

“Throughout my two years of Cégep, I have pursued three Millennium Certificates in Critical Race Studies, Gender Studies and Democracy and Social Movements. I loved my experience! I loved the one-on-one meetings with great mentors who offer real wisdom and care about you and your future. I learned to be intentional and mindful as I pursue higher education, and that when you engage with purpose in your daily activities and analyze them, you are actively creating your own educational experience. It made me feel a real sense of purpose in my studies and it really helped me understand myself, as well as what I wanted my future to entail! Today, I look back on them and thank my experience in this program as I love my university major and minor, as well as the job and internship opportunities I have gotten from it! It is an incredible opportunity for a student’s future, do it!”

“I highly recommend the environmental citizenship certificate (or any certificate in the program) to other students because it offers hands-on learning, and community involvement, all aimed at making a tangible environmental impact. Students not only gain valuable knowledge but also contribute to real-world projects that promote sustainability. This combination of academic study and practical action equips students to be leaders in creating a more sustainable and greener future. This program allowed me to connect with fellow students who share similar interests and to organize activities and outings centered on those shared passions. If given the opportunity, I would undoubtedly choose to participate in this experience again.”
