Congratulations to student Chloé Simard who won first prize in the bilingual category of the national Poetry in Voice competition on April 24.
Simard travelled to Ottawa to perform her selection aloud in front of a panel of judges at the National Arts Centre.
Her first-place win comes with a $3,000 prize.
Simard was selected to compete alongside nine finalists from across Canada in the for the second year in a row.
Last year, Simard won $2,000 and came in second place in the French category at the national finals held in Calgary.
Over 20,000 students nationwide participated in 2024, reciting poems by heart from the Poetry In Voice/Les voix de la poésie online anthology.
